SAN FRANCISCO SERVICE.

Per Press Association. Auckland, January 11. Mr Cockroft, general passenger agent of the Oceanic Company, now in Auckland, en route for Han Francisco, was interviewed regarding the American Subsidies Bill, and expressed surprise at the cabled report of its probable rejection. Mr Cann in, Speaker of Congress, had been under the impression, he said, that the Bill would go through. lie still thought the measure would be carried. Asked how the rejection of the Bill would affect the Siin Franpisco line, Mr.Coekroft replied he did not know, aqd could not say anything on the subject.
