A man, disguised as a private in the army service corps, tired three shots killing General PavlolT, Chief of the Military and Public Prosecutor, in the courtyard of his official residence at St. Petersburg. The assassin killed a gendarme, wounded a gendarme and many others before he was arrested. The Bureaucrats are panic-stricken, as Pavloff took a leading part in the instiution of the drumhead court-martials.
