* ’ January 8. The reciprocal treaty "between South Africa and New Zealand has been gazetted. It provides the following dpties on goods the produce or manufactures of New Zealand ipj. ported into the South African colonies (Cape Colony, Natal, Orangia, Trans : vaal and Southern Rhodesia): Bran fsj flour 2? 3d, oats Ig IQd, whpat 1? pep cental, butter 2d per lb, cheese 12 pep cent ad valorem, meats Id per Ifi. All other goods, (except spirits, 25 per cpnf less than the duty which would othepi wise he paid. The duties on goods op manufactures produced in the South African colonies and imported to New Zealand will be : Feathers, 15 per cent ad valorem; fish, per lb; fruits, dried and green, free;] maize, (3d, sugar, Is 8d per cental; manufactured tobacco, 2s Gd per lb ; tea not otherwise exempt, Id per lb ; wines, other than sparkling 2s a gallon, sparkling os. All other goods, except spirits, 25 per cent less than the duty which would otherwise be paid.
