FOUND DEAD.

-Per Press Association. r - Nelson, January 7. Mi* W. A. Sham, District Engineer) was found lying dead in his office late this afternoon. Eecently the business of his department has been conducted at Tadmor where he has been residing, but he was in town on New Year’s Eve and his family are residing at Suburban North. He evidently went to his town office hist Monday night and slept there, intending to catch an early train on New Year's morning. During the) night he must have had a fit, as he was subject to them, and have died there. There was much blood beside the body, which was scarcely recognisable, having been in a hot close room for a week. Mr Shain had not been missed, as his family and friends believed ha was at work at the Upper Tadmor, and the people there thought ho was detained in town. The Public Works town office is in the old Post Office building, and an officer of the telegraph department, having occasion to go into the adjoining room this morning, noticed a dreadful smell, but found no cause. Late this afternoon he again went to the adjoining office, and concluded the cause was in the locked Publio Works office and he called the polico, who broke open the door and made the discovery. Tho doctor called in states that death resulted from a fit. Tho shocking event has created a deep impression and there is much sympathy with his wife and children.
