ROBBERY AT ELTHAM.

Per Press Association. New Plymouth, January 7; A daring burglary was perpetrated at the Coronation Hotel at Eltham on Sunday night. The licensee’s trousers, containing the keys of the safe, were removed from his bedroom while he was asleep, and £SO in single notes was abstracted from the safe. Apparently the thief was disturbed, as a considerable sum in gold and cheques was untouched. Yesterday Constable Ryan, of Stratford, went to Eltham to assist Constable Redican and before long they han arrested a porter of the hotel On his room being searched £4O of the missing money was recovered.
