K, Roveday, formerly member of the Executive of the National Association, speaking at Barberton, explained that he quitted the ranks of the Nationalists because tire latter, on tho eve of the granting of Letters Patent wrecked the proposed protest of all parties, including the Boers, against the reservations contained in the new Constitution. The opportunity, he said, was thus lost pf showing Lord Elgin that the Transyaalers were united in opposing British inteferference in the domestic affairs of the Transvaal.
