THE BAND CONTEST,

(Per Press Association.) OiiEisTcnuiicit, January 7,

For the Exhibition Band Contest held on February 11th to 10th the judge of the tost and owu choice selections and the music of the quickstep contest will be Lieut. W. G. Bentley, of Sydney, a British Army bandmaster of high credentials. For the selection and quickstep competitions 27 bands arc entered, including Newcastle City (N.S.W.) aud Code’s, Melbourne Band. Thirty-three bands provide entries for the solo, quartette aud trombone competitions.
