Stock Market.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : At Palmerston on Thursday we had a fair yarding of stock. The attendance, however, was not good, and very few buyers were present, consequently bidding was not particularly brisk. The sales were mostly effected privately at the following quotations ; Two .and 4 tooth wethers 15s, small sixed 2 tooths 11s 3d, 3 and 3i year low conditioned steers £3 to £3 2s 6d, forward cows £2 IDs, store cows 30s to 355, 18 months heifers 27s 6d.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., hold their weekly sale at Palmerston on Thursday, when a full yarding of sheep, including a line of 1000 2 tooth wethers and a large yarding of cattle, came forward. Bidding was slack, no doubt owing to the sale being held too coou after the holidays. We quota : fat ewes 13s 7d, 2 tooth wethers 14s 7d to 15s, woolly lambs 9s Cd, aged ewes and lambs 30s.

Messrs Abraham Williams, Ltd.v report on their Johnsons ille sale as folio-’.vs: A small entry of bullocks of goo.l quality were equal to requirements. induing was quiet. Beef made 21s. Best bullocks £‘S 2a Gd to £S 10s, lighter to £7 17s Gel, light steers £G 15s. Small yarding of sheep of prime quality. Ewes Ms Gd, wethers 17s Id, others 10s Gd, lambs to 12s.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows : At Palmerston on Thursday we yarded 500 head of cattle and 300 sheep. There was a very small attendance of buyers and bidding was slack. Sheep sold at their values under the hammer, and the bulk of l{ie cattle were afterwards quitted. We quote ; Inferior ewes and lambs 12s 4d, forward ewes 12s Bd, cull 2 tooths 11s Id. Cattle: Wcancrs IGs to 17s Gd, yearling heifers 20s, yearling steers 32s to 41s, 18 months steers £2 7s Gd, 2.1 year steers £M, bulls £1 to £'4, store cows 30s to £2.
