DOG SHOW.

Per Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The inaugural dog show of the newly formed Canterbury Kennel Club, and tho first held in Christchurch for some five years, opened at the Exhibition grounds to-day and will bo continued to-morrow. Regarding the entries numerically the show is one of the largest ever held in the colony. The fox terrier class was an immensely strong one both in point of number and quality, entries being at-’ tractcd from Auckland, Napier, Dunedin and other centres. The bull dogs comprised the largest and most representative class of the breed got together in Christchurch, if not in New Zealand no fewer than 43 entries being forwarded. Black pugs were shown for the first time hero and made an excellent display. Mr R. O. Duncan’s imported Skye terrier slut (To Rangi Pai) was unhesitatingly pronounced by experts to bo the finest typo of the breed ever exhibited in the Southron Hemisphere. Miss Rubi Seddon’s Bahi was unopjiosed in the Skye terrier dog class which was a matter for regret, as lie would have gained laurels in the very best of company. In other departments of the show the same uniform excellence of quality was to be discerned and the exhibition on the whole is one of which the Club has every reason to be proud.
