She will entertain with stories of her experience after leaving her natvc country, am will give a most interesting discussion of life and customs in the Sfbkmt, where she was born. : On Saturday (the second day oi Chautauqua) brings a group of New Zealand musicians, “The lonians.’ This quartette will give a musical recital programme.. Captain Imrie, a Canadian officer, will lecture the second day. The captain is a brilliant orator, and a real thinker. He gives a most interesting discussion of the problems facing the English-speaking people. His ideal is to bring about a more perfect understanding between the Anglo-Saxon races of the world, and create a* feeling of friendship and understanding between those countries. Monday, the Chautauqua will give its third programme. The musical programme for that day will be given by "a trio. Mr Lowell Patton, the pianist, is a brilliant young . composer, and a musician who lias spent several years of study under the best teachers in New fork City. Miss Root, the contralto soloist, has been out for one season with the Washington Grand Opera Company. She is " a singer of great promise. Mr W. Eastman, lecturer for that day, will discuss the development of government and its gradual change. Mr Eastman is a lecturer whose discussion appeals to those who are real students, and W'ho enjoy something worthwhile. Other programmes will be discussed in later issues.
