PAPAKURA TOWN BOARD
LAST NIGHT’S MEETING. The Papakura Town Board met las' evening, when there were present Messrs S. Evans (chairman), E. E McLennan, Jas. Beams, T. D. Camp bell, D. W. Jones, J Rea, R. Montgomery and the Clerk (Mr A. L Cooper. Auctioneers License, An application was received from the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agencj Co., Ltd., for an auctioneer’s license The Company pointed out that ii was renewing the license with the Board on the understanding that the road leading o thto salcyarcls was put in order as early as possible.— The license was granted, and it was decided to expend the amount ol the license fee on the road. The Papakura War Memorial Committee solicited the Board’s permission to erect a monument, in memory of the men of the Papakura and the immediate neighbourhood who gave their lives in the Great War. on the triangular piece of ground in front of the Town Board Office --The Board acquiesced. Genera).
The chairman mentioned that the Engineer expected to commence work in connection with the water scheme immediately. He had everything in readiness to proceed with the work. Finance.
Accounts amounting to K9O 7s 11 bid were passed for payment.
