A very well attended meeting of § this and surrounding districts was held in the picture hall to decide on ,: a war memorial. Messrs. A representative appointed, and are arranging re-optn-ing of campaign. Karaka has been especially prominent in this matter, and credit was given them accordingly. VALEDICTORY.

Dancing was the order of-the, evening, interspersed with lightful solos by Mrs. George, whose singing was much appreciated.: •After' supper, Mr. D. Lynch in an appnjeiative speech spoke of the regret felt by all present in losing the Misses Cummins from the district, and of the Way they had always •been.ready to give their.help in the district. He then, on behalf of their Rama Rama friends, presented them with a case of serviette rings, suitably inscribed. Thanks on their behalf was'returned, end dancing was resumed until the . small hours of the mornint. Mr. J.
