AND FLORAL FETE
-PROMENADE CONCERT.

Delightfully novel for Franklin is the composite event to be held in the Franklin A. and P. Society's show grounds and buildings to-morrow week, Saturday, December 18, commencing at 1 p.m., at which time the gymkhana starts. The sports programme comprises sixteen events, including races for boys, girls and adults. There are also stockmen's competitions, potato and spoon race, fVread-the-nieedle race, saddling competition, J'and other events, including^ and golf. The floral fet\ promises to be a giand affair, so\e«ng after the fashion of the grcW displays usually seen in cities onjl and on festive occasions. An enileration of what the fete consist of will probably give the JlninWated the best idea of it, andjprizes Yill be awarded for the follojrng:— \ Best decoimed motoiXcar, best decorated nor* and gig, V pony and gig, or h«#se and buggjt, or buggy and pair; JSest decorated pony, ridden by boy of ridden by girl; best decorated mmor lorry; best tradesman's turnoujf or express cart, or milk float; best Jfcorated farmer's turnout, waggon & spring cart, used for the purpose/of his business; best decorated motlr bicycle: best decorated push bike; best decorated pram or go-cart; best decorated doll's pram; best decorated pet; best decorated team of horses and waggon, or team of horses and lorry; most original costume, on foot; most original costume, mounted.
At the conclusion of the judging the entire floral fete will parade round the ring. Season tickets, 2s each, which will admit one adult or two children, are now available.
