OF WORK.
The ladies of Aka Aka held their sale of work last T!*jesday. the hall 1 looking very gay. *Abe stalls were 'Jecorated with prere* gploured papers, nikau palms, andLittther native <;rp D .ns, giving a very pjetty effect. The Revs. Macßae.Tussell and Griffin gave short, suitable addresses. Mrs Garland then declared the bazaar open. The ladies at the different stalls had a very busy jtime selling theii pretty and r.seful articles. Adjoining the hall was a tent in which ■trawberries and cream were served, the attendants doing a good business, ■s also did the lea rooms. In the evening, Mr. Owens, who possesses a very sweet tenor voice, i entered two songs in first-clasi style, while Mr. McKeefery (Waiuku) cry generously gave a recitation. The competitions caused great amusement, the nail-driving and wood.awing for ladies being won by Miss Mearns and Mrs. Stokes, while iUtc hat-trimming and foi gentlemen was won by Mr. D. Walters •:nd Mr. H. Woods. The takings for the day amounted to £l9O. • y The ladies are to be congratwatet •>n the way they have worked anc tarried the bazaar through, and the committee wish to thank all who s* villingly helped in every way a\t made the bazaar such a success.
