GYMKHANA AND FLORAL FETE.

The organising committee for the forthcoming gymkhana and floral fete to be held on the A. and P. Society's grounds on Saturday, December *lB, 1920, met last evening. They report that most of the arrangements are now well forward.
The sports programme will be a varied and attracti". > one. and the earliest opportunity will be taken of having it circulated in the district. The lloral fete, which will take the Jorm of llorally, decorated motor-cars, motor-bikes, buggies, gigs, ponies, perambulators, and motor lorries, tradesmen s and farriers' turnouts, waggons, milk floats, dolls' prams, etc., should appeal to the artistic tastf of the people. 'I he committee have been extremely fortunate in securing t)»o services of l lie Pormonby Buys' Brass Band of in instruments. This band is touring the .Dominion after Christmas, anil further interesting information in connexion with it will be given I<> our readers in a future issue.
