FRANKLIN RACING CLUB.
EXECUTIVE MEETING. i The executive of the Franklin Racing Club met in the A. and P. SoI ciety's Otiice on Tuesday night, when I there were present: Messrs. YV. Claud j Motion (president, in the chair), C. ; Clarke, Jas. Kennelly, W. j. Taylor, I H Stuart, W. Hawke, G. H. Armstrong. E. C. Cuff, C.- IMcComick, A. P. Brown, H. H. D. Wily, S. Clews, I R. H. McGough, P W. .J. M. West, Medland, and the sec- : retary. Mr A. P. Daysh. 1 Mr. I. <J. Russell tendered his rei sanation as a member of the clui>. The resignation was accepted, and it was decided to thank Mr. Russell for his past services. The Clevedon A. and F. Society , wrote intimating tluit the dates of the Clevedon Show and Franklin race meeting clashed, and suggested the Racing Club alter the date of holding its meeting.—On the motion of Ihe president and Mr. Armstrong! it was decided to alter the date of the meeting. Apiil 9 was suggested, and finally Messrs. »Armstrong, Brown, Clark, Kennelly and the president were appointed a sub-committee to fix a suitable date, with power io act. One of the main reasons for the alteration in the date of the fixture was that it was found impossible to have the racing track completed in time for a meeting on Febi uary 5. Jhe president and Messrs. Mct'ough and Clews were appointed i. sub-committee to arrange for the expeditious completion of the course. The sub-committee was instructed to arrange for the removal of two laige microcarpa trees from near the racing track. Thirty new members were elected A large amount of routine business was transacted in committee. Accounts amounting to £5 10s weiv passed for payment.'
