TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL.
OFFICIAL OPENING. FEBRUARY 3rd SUGGESTED. PREMIER TO BE INVITED. PAPAKURA SCHOOL TRAIN 1 . IMPROVED SERVICE DESIRED. In an important letter to the chaii man of the Pukekohe District Sch6e Committee (Mr. F. Perkins), tJ/3 Supervisor of Technical Education (M J. P. Kalaugher) suggests that Thurs day, February 3, 1!721, would be a suit able date for the opening of the Pukekohe Technical High School. Tin chairman of the board (Mr. E. C. Banks) has suggested that the Prin> Minister, who is also member for thi district (Right Hon. W. F. Massey) should bxe asked to declare the building open.
Pupils will be enrolled on during the two days following the opening. It has been firmly -decided to offei a good salary in order to attract thf very best talent in the Dominion at head teacher, which position .will* shortly be advertised. The furnishings for the school have been arranged for in readiness for the opening. Referring to the unsuitable train service between Pukekohe and Papakura, the supervisor suggests that the committee should endeavour to get the Thames express, which leaves Pukekohe at 3.40 p.m., to stop at Papnkura, which would solve the difficulty very satisfactorily.
