TUAKAU TOWN BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Tuakau Town Board was held on Tuesday last, when there were present; Messrs. Jas. Pirret, C. Finch, Geo. S. Lapwood, G. Arrowsmith, J. B. Sim, W. J. Taylor and the clerk (Mr A. H. Tapper). Owing to the absence of the chairman (Mr. Dynes Fulton), who is in Wellington on business connected with the board, Mr. Jas. Pirret was voted to the chair. Building Permit. Mr. F. W. Woolley was granted a permit to erect a building in George Street. Lamp Lighting. The clerk *was instructed to arrange for the lighting of the street lamps. Damaged Watertablcs. Complaints were received that watertablcs wcro being damaged through vehicles being driven along them. In connexion with this matter the cleik was instructed to write Messrs. A. J. Prescott and T. G. Morgan drawing their attention to the fact that vehicles owned by them had been driven along the watertables, with a request that the practice should cease. The surfaceman was instructed to attend to the watertables on Dominion and Henderson's Roads. Finance. Accounts totalling £337 16s 3d were submitted, approved, and passed for payment. The loan account was shown to be in credit £l4B 3s 4d, while the general account was stated to be in debit £789 Is sd. The meeting was adjourned until Tuesday, October 12.
