A BOMBAY SOLDIER. 'THJfew days ago Corporal W. P. Ramsay, late of the New Zealand Ex- * peditlonary Force, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ramsay, of "Willowbrae," received the following letter '•"from General Headquarters of the 'lfcw Zealand Defence Department: 'tti*smblem to be worn on riband of •factory Medal to denote that the 1 wearer has been mcntiony|fcin dc•spatchls. • JF/ •• . VHis Majesty the King lTas been Voraciously pleased to approve again » emblem being worn on the riband of Victory Medal by all personnel borne on the strength of the British Do- ' minions Colonial and Indian Expeditionary Forces who have been mentioned one or more times in the military despatches daring the recent war by a commander in the field. "Two sizes of the emblem are issued. The larger will be worn with the Victory Medal affixed in the centre of the riband at an angle of 60deg. from the inside' edge 'of the riband, stem to the right. The smaller will be worn transversely Yacross the riband (stem to the right) when the medal is not worn. "As you were mentioned in despatches you are entitled to the free issue of the two emblems (one large and one small), and these are enclosed herewith.—(Signed) C. E. Andrew, Lieut.-Colonel, N.Z. Staff 'A' Branch." The emblems are made of a bronze kind of metal, the larger representing an oak leaf, and the smaller heather sprig. Corporal Ramsay enlisted at Pokeno, and left New Zealand with the 24th Reinforcements. He returned to New Zealand about 12 months ago. He is now farming at Dargaville.
