TUAKAU TOWN BOARD
PRE ELECTION MEETING.
The last ordinary meeting of the Tuakau Town Board, prior to elections, was held on Tuesday nigW Present: Messrs. Dynes Fulton (cha* man), J. F'irret. J. Mungall, C. -FincM W. fiarnaby, A. ]». Gernghtv, G<fl Lapwood. and the clerk .r.MA. ■ Tapper). ■ .Captain Diyisey, C.E., and Mr. H Gavey, C.E., in reply to a letter fr<® the board, agreed to hold a meeting at Tuakalu in connexion with a light railway proposal at any date the board might fix-Loft to new board to deal with. Mr. Wm. Pirret offered the board a site in Liverpool Street, opposite the post office, as a town hall r.ite for £7OO.
For the same purpose Mr. Geo. S, Lapwood offered two sites for <:3GO or one site for £l9O.
Mr. T. K. Paterson, of Mercer, offered two sections for £730.
It was made a recommendation to the new board that a delegate be reappointed to represent the board on the Waikato River Vigilance Committee, which will meet at-Mercer on Saturday, September 18. It was decided to hold a meeting of ratepayers on Tuesday night at 8 o'clock to diiguss the loan proposal of £7OOO form: memorial hall. Dromgool demanding the return of borrowed by him in September, 1010.
