Mrs. Burns, Miss Burns, and Master Burns, of Timaru, are spending a holiday with relatives at Paerata. The death occurred at Waiuku this week of Captain Holden (Merchant Marine) at the age of 82. Deceased, who was late of Taranaki, leaves a family of four daughters (one married) and two sons. Mr. J. Boyd, of Pukekohe Hill, is a nephew. The funeral took place at Waiuku yesterday.

By the death of Mrs. Elizabeth P. James, aged 81, widow of the late Mr. W. J. James, of "Brookside Farm," Waiuku district, has lost a very old resident, and parent of a highly-respected family. The interment took place in the Presbyterian section of the local cemetery at 1 p.m. to-day.
