WEDDING BELLS
♦_- PLATT WARDELL. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. John's Church, Drury, by Rev. Hewlett, on August 11, when Miss Cecily Wardell, daughter of the late Mr. Robert Wardell of Opaheke, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. W. H. Piatt, son of Mr. W. Piatt, of Papakura, and late of Opaheke. The bride', who was given away by her brother, Mr. Charles Wardell, looked charming in a frock of white satin, with train trimmed with pearls, georgette blouse, while she wore the orthodox veil and orange blossoms. She was attended by her sister, Miss Eleanor Wardell, as bridesmaid, who wore a gown of pink satin with black hat. Mr. Peter Browne acted as best man. After thetceremony a large number of guests were entertained at a sumptuous wedding repast at the residence of Mrs. E. Fielding, the bride's sister, when the customary toasts were enthusiastically honourted. Mr. and Mrs. Piatt,' jun., left subsequently for New Plymouth, where the honeymoon was spent. The presents were costly and numerous, and testified to the popularity in which both were held.
