SATURDAY.
"The Shuttle," from the novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Hurnott, whose popularity brought the book through ten editions. "The Shuttle" gives Constance Talmadge as Bettina Vanderpoel in the Select production, a role admirably suited lor her portrayal of high-spirited, lovable, truly American girls. "The Shuttle,' which is the big attraction lor to-morrow evening, is perhaps the most polished product if Mrs. Burnett's pen, for it is a ffflrt-mov-mg story of unusual dramatftT Torce with a unrtetgal appeal. As Bettina Vanderpoel the*brisk, independent, energetic American girl, who brings her. elder sister, Lady Anstruthers, back to health and spiritual well-be; ing, Constance Talmadge repeats the sensational success as a dramatic star which she resigstered with "Scandal." The characterisation of this story Ts Connie's greatest achievement. The supports are topical budget and a two-reel Vitagfaph comeriv. s .- MONDA^. ■■ ..:.;•

He keeps close watch on the office, and at last he beholds Luis Le Moync, belle of. the outpost, rummaging about hi* desk. He misunderstands her errand ;.nd has her arrested. From then oil to the finish of the story the picture contains act ion and thrill in every toot of fi'm. There will also be shown' a. gazette and a Keystone comedy. Indicalions point to the tear* Year ball, which* takes place irt the Premier Hall oti September 2, beinrf an unqualified success. Up to the faresent ticket:-; have sold readily, and a large at tendance is expected. i-One unfortunate feature.about the admission ticket is that the dance ■programme is printed on tho inside, and is sold conjointly with- -the ticket. Quite a number of the programmes have been more oV less fillecf up, afid the management request ticket holders to cease the prgjjgMjejmmediately in. fairness to intending patrons from Auckland, Waiuku, and other parts of the province, who being elsewhere cannot get their programmes filled before the night of the event. ', A special feature of the function will be the supper, which will in- 1 elude toothsome delicacies in the way of jellies, 'salads, fruit, etc. Don't forget Thursday next. „-
