Quick, Takapuna, who is a member of the general committee, as he was leaving to catch a train, kindly offered to the meeting a £5 5s donation as a prize to be awarded to anv class they thought fit. The president thanked Mr. Quick for his generous offer.

This concluded the business of the afternoon.

STRANGE EVIDENCE. 500,000 BLOOD SUCKERS AT WORK. The other day on a farm not a hundred miles from Auckland a milking cow was found dead, having fallen over a bank. It was noticed that clinging to the end of almost every hair of the cow's hide were innumerable lice. An effort was made to roughly estimate their number, and by taking a patch- six Inches square and counting them and multiplying the remaining space a conservative estimate put the number of lice on the cow in question at the incredible number of half a million. A farmer present made the observation that almost half the cows in the Waikato were infected with lice in the winter and early spring, and also that in his opinion this reduced their milk yield at least one quarter. Just reckon the astounding waste. If half the herds in the Waikato are infected with lice, and a-quarter of their yield lost to the farmer, it means that thousands of pounds every year go to feed these hungry parasites. Here, then, is a remedy: Buy a Tin .f "THOMPSON'S LICLRINE," and mear a little down the animal's j iack. Licerine kills them all. An bsolutely new preparation, wonder- j ul in its results. Effective on Cattle, lortet, and Pigs. Obtainable at all stores, or 21b j :ample tin posted on receipt of 3s i d. !
