WAIAU HOCKEY MATCH.
Sir, -Will you grant me a little of your valuable space to correct a wrong impression conveyed in an article in your hockey notes of the 13th inst. As secretary ol' the Waiau Hockey Club, 1 wish to disclaim all responsibility for the said article, and to state that it was written without the cognisance of the club. I heartily agree with the sentiments expressed by your correspondent, Mr J. Brown, on the 17th inst., regarding the unsportsmanlike spirit in criticising' the referee after having won the match.
