PAPATOETOE TOWN BOARD
TUESDAY'S MEETING. The usual fortnightly meeting of - the Papatostoe Town Board was held j on Tuesday last, when the following . members were present: Mr. J. Watson (chairman), Messrs. T. Mulcock, * J. D'Eath, (I. McCullough, A. W. 1 Hall, J. Bryant, A. U. Timewell, and -S } the clerk (Mr. H. T. Ernest). * Building Inspector. Mr. T. H. Wells, of Manurewa, wrote stating his willingness to act a 9 inspector at a remuneration -of i half the permit fec-s. It was decided that Mr. Wells be appointed. War Memorial. The committee reported having met the chairman of the Orphan Homes' Board, and also having approached the Railway Department for the necessary land to widen the western approach to the traffic bridge. The two parties are considering the matter and have not yet given a delinite reply. Telephone Service. The 100 th subscriber hiving joined the service it was decided to apply for the extended service, and vour to obtain a service from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. ! Quarrying Stone. The matter of obtaining spawls for the next year be left with the works committee with power to act. Great South Road. It was decided to effect repaid* ~ to that portion of the Great SoutM Road between the county Boundary V and the part graded by the board, jf
