Clevedon :s. Waiuku forfeited to Tuakau. The Franklin Rugby Union's competitions were advanced a further >tage on Saturday in excellent weather conditions. Entlm.siasts t ink advantage of the ideal weather, and attended the various matches in large numbers, and had the pleasure of witnessing some really excellent exhibitions of Rugby. The chief attraction locally was the Pukckohe-Patumahoe .junior clash. When these teams met at Patumainahoe in the lirst round Pukekohe romped over their opponents to the tune of <4B points to 3. Since then the Patumahoe team had shown a great improvement, and on Saturday they were confident of fully extending" the yet unbeaten Pukekohe boy*. As the teams lined out (Patumahoe being a good -deal heavier

than the home team) both appeared in the best of condition. A number of. the Pukekohe team were suffering from the effects of minor injuries received in pre\ious matches, together with the fact that several were suffering from severe colds. These complaints hampered them to a marked degree, but insufficient to prevent them from running all over

the visitors. Patumahoe kicked oil' against a strong' sun, Jim Adams returning, C. Howard, who took the let urn kick being injured after play had commenced for about •»(> seconds.
