Lopdell, county engineer, gave details from the report submit- ' ted. i After general discussion, it was ' unanimously agreed that the council should proceed with the loan proposal, and take a poll as soon as possible. Same length of Sin. costs £1402 10s. This brings total to £4,714 lis 4d. Say there are 300 houses and 20 feet to each connection, 6000 feet at Is, £3OO. Total 5.175. Metering.—Allowing 300 meters. Ellis and Co's quote was: 655, find a 4 in, 70s. It is advisable to use :: 4 in. throughout, this giving a clear- ' or /low. 300 meters at, sav, £4 placed in position, £I2OO. Allowing contingencies, raising i loan, etc, £260 8s Bd. Total, £6OOO. It is therefore evident that no less a sum than £6OOO can be contemplated in raising a loan, as the contin- ' gencies only amount to an odd £260 Out of this must be provided all ' valves required.
