. ALFRISTON AND BROOKBY. A "third grade hockey team from K'-fV Auokhind visited the district on Sat- **. urday afternoon to try conclusions with the local team, and a fast and interesting game resulted in favour of the local team by, 4 goals to 1; For the home team goals were scored by 0. Ayher, J. Mclnnes, W. Moody, and C. Fltipatrick, while T. Sparling 1 scored for the visitors. Sunday School Soiree. The local Sunday school held their annual soiree on Saturday night in the publje hall under the management of the teachers, Mrs. Middleton, f Miss Wedding, and Mr. J. T. jj Bodlev. Tea was served at six o'clock, to which the children did full justice.
