. ALFRISTON AND BROOKBY. A "third grade hockey team from K'-fV Auokhind visited the district on Sat- **. urday afternoon to try conclusions with the local team, and a fast and interesting game resulted in favour of the local team by, 4 goals to 1; For the home team goals were scored by 0. Ayher, J. Mclnnes, W. Moody, and C. Fltipatrick, while T. Sparling 1 scored for the visitors. Sunday School Soiree. The local Sunday school held their annual soiree on Saturday night in the publje hall under the management of the teachers, Mrs. Middleton, f Miss Wedding, and Mr. J. T. jj Bodlev. Tea was served at six o'clock, to which the children did full justice. The principal form of enqJ joyment for the children was games, during which a few items were capj_ ably rendered by the following scholjQ> are: Pianoforte solo by Maggie Wed. v ding, songs by Rosalie Ayher* Betty Harris, Doris , Lowther, Atherley Bodle, and Atliol Davies; and reeitations by Betty Adamson and Gordon •■:.** f J)nviea.; A very enjoyable'evening was, brought Jo a close, shortly after lOn'cldek.
