WAIUKU R.S.A.

PATUIWAHOE SU BRANCH. A meeting of returned soldiers from Patumaboe and surrounding districts was held in Mr. Vidak's rooms, Patumahoe, on Tuesday night, in furtherance of the organisation of these districts. Mr. E. Knight presided over a fair attendance ,)f returned soldiers. Major Aldred (president), Mr. E. Hay (secretary), and Messrs. Knight and Mason (members of committee) of the Waiuku Returned Soldiers' Association were present. The president and secretary explained the aims of the association, what it had done, and what was still to be done, and appealed to all returned men to stick loyally to the Returned Soldiers' Association, as there was still a great deal of good work for the association to do. it was unanimously decided to join up with the Waiuku Returned Soldiers' Association, and have a local committee to look after this end of the district,

The following were elected on the committee:—Messrs. E. Knight, P. Heather, A. Forbes, F. Day, A. Woolsey, W. M. Phillips, and S. Owen. Mr. C. Vidak was appointed local secretary.

Any information, re joining the association, or being transferred to the local association from any other branch, can be obtained on applying to Mr. C. Vidak (secretary of Patumahoe sub-branch), or Mr. E. Hay (secretary of Waiuku Association), Waiuku, 'phone 24. All returned men in Waiuku, Patumahoe, Mauku, and surrounding districts are earnestly appealed to to become members of the local association.

The annual reunion of the Waiuku Reurned Soldiers' Association will be held in the Punblic Hall, Waiuku, on August 4, when it is hoped that every leturned man will make a special effort to be present. Tickets will be obtainable from the secretary.
