APPEAL FOR FUNDS

EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES.

FRANKLIN TECHNICAL HIGH

SCHOOL.

Readers of the •"Times"' will have noted that in order to secure the best conditions in regard to the site for the new Franklin Technical High School it was deemed desirable to purchase an extra acre of land from Mr. McGough. This extra acre of land will cost £3OO, and the Board of Education has agreed to purchase the land, provided the people of Franklin subscribe *:100 towards the purchase money. The chairman of the Pukekohe School Committee (Mr. F. Perkins) and his colleagues have sufficient faith in the public spirit of the community in Franklin to take it for granted that this money will be forthcoming, and have therefore assured the Board that Franklin will find the CIUO, and so have agreed to the deal. It now remains for the public to rise to the occasion, for the good of tlie whole district and the children of this and succeeding generations. U is also hoped that, apart from private subscriptions, the Franklin County Council and-Puke-kohe Borough Council will lend a hand. To show what has been done already in a private way, we publish hereunder a. list of donations given by district residents in the past in connexion with a previous purchase of the adjoining property. Subscriptions may be handed in to Mr. F. Perkins, or to Mr. John Patterson (secretary Pukekohe School Committee). All donations wiil be acknowledged in the "Times": -

The abovj are contributions promised, '.pel wit!) v y few exceptions they have been paid, but these were for* a previous purchase. What is wanted now is money for the extra acre, and for improving the grounds.
