Sir, should feel much Indebted to you for exposing, in your issue of June 28, the manner in which the leather manipulators are exploiting them, and rouse themselves to protest to Parliament against allowing a continuation; also, to insist on the immediate removal of all Customs charges on imported leather goods. Even the local makers hove the advantage of quite 40 per cent, over the importers by the saving outward and inward shipping charges. The Government of the day is really made up of "Boards and Commisnd the people sent to Wellington umftMy the tail which wag> to the heads (B. and C's). Ct Cjktrse, their visit confirms their . legal right to draw their £4OO per annum. So long as the public is satisfied with this state of things nc complaint is likely to arise. THOS.
