Mr. Dromgool has appointed Mr. J, (iarland, land agent of Auckland, as his assessor, and the board hus secured the services of Mr. W. Ciaud Motion, chairman of Franklin County council, to act on its behalf. Particulars regarding the statement ol claim have previously appeared in the "Times." ■» SOCIAL. A success lul social and dance was held in the Tuakau Hall last evening. 'lhere was a large attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. Dance music was supplied by Miss Geraghty (piano), and H. Deed (violin). Messrs E. and H. Lee proved elbcient M's.C. Supper was handed round and duly appreciated. ACCIDENT TO LITTLE CiuL A littie girl aged about four years, daughter of Mr. Pollock of Opuatea, met with a nasty accident yesterday. It appears that'the little child was playing with an axe, and accidentally severed one of the toes from he; right foot, and badly cut two others. She wa-s brought to Tuakau and attended at Mr. Tapper's pharmacy by Dr. C. H. Wake of Pukekohe, and was -e:it to Auckland for further ■ treatment. FOOTBALL.
