ALFRISTON AND BROOKBY.
The Brookby Lawn Tennis Club held its annual ball in the Alfriston Public Hall on Friday night, June 26, when, although the weather was not very favourable, there was a large attendance, visitors turning out in large numbers from most of the surrounding districts. The committee spared no pains in decorating, preparing the floor, and catering, and it must be very gratifying for them to know that after all expenses have been paid the club's funds will benefit by a fair sum. Excellent music was provided by Mr. Sapsford, of Auckland, consisting of piano, violin and cornet. The duties of M.C's were faithfully carried out by Messrs. J Sutton, fl. Embling, C. Fitzpatrick, and R. Muir.
