The other day on a farm not a hundred miles from Auckland a milking cow was found dead, having fallen over a bank. It was noticed that clinging to the end of almost every
hair of the cow's hide were innumerable lice. An effort was made to roughly estimate their number, and by taking a patch six inches square and counting them And multiplying the remaining space a conservative estimate put the number of lice on the cow in question at the incredible number of half a million. A farmer present made the observation that almostjhalf the cows in the Waikato ter ah<Tearly spring, and also that in hw* opinion this reduced their milk
yield at leaft one quarter. Just reckon the astounding waste. If half the herds in the Waikato are infected with lice, and a-quarter of their yield lost to the farmer, it means ihat thousands of pounds every vera go to feed these hungry parasites. Here, then, is a remedy: Buy a Tin of "THOMPSON'S yGKRINE," and smear a little ddfth the animal's back. Licerine kills them all. An absolutely new preparation, wonderful in its results.
