FRANKLIN MARKET REPORT
The Franklin Farmers' Auctioneer ing Co., Ltd., report:-^ On Friday at our sale there was heavy entries in all lines. Pigs: Weaners (small) lis to 14s, better quality 17s to 225, stores 35s to 40s. About 100 sold. A quantity of trees, sh#tbs and plants realised satisfactory prices, one pot plant (fern) fetching 21s. There was exceptionally heavy entries of poultry. Ordinary and small hens fetched from 2s 6d to 3s, heavier 3s to 4s, roosters (light) 2s to 3s, heavier 3s 6d to 4s 6d, top price realised being 'Js; dacks 3s U 4s 6d. Potatoes, 8s cwt, pumpkins and melons lis cwt, carrots (good) 4s 6d cwt. Fruit: Bushel cases small samples 2s 6d case, better 5s to 6s case; lemons 12s 6d case. A quantity of sundries sold at usual rates.
