PAERATA.
TENNIS AND CROQUET LAWN. A meeting was held at Paerata recently for the purpose of considering an offer from Mr. P. Jamieson ol a site for a tennis and croquet lawn, bowling green. Mr. Jamieson was voted to the chair. The wet weather militated against a good attendance, but those present took the matter up with enthusiasm. It was the general opinion that the offer of such a good site should be availed of, and arrangements were made for a thorough canvas of the district to see what support was available. EUCHRE AND DANCE.
A euchre party and dance was held in the goods-shed on Saturday, May 22, and considering the state of the weather the attendance was good. The first part of the evening was devoted to progressive euchre, at which Mrs. McGafTan and Mr. Aiderton proved winners of the lady's and gent's prizes .tspectively. Dancing followed, rnd fin enjoyable evening was concluded at midnight.
