The Glenbrook branch of the Farmere' Union wrote drawing attention to the bad state.of repair of Hall to Glenbrook station road, and also requested improvements of other roads in the district.—To be repaired as soon as materials available. Loan money to be spent on other roads if loan is carried. Road Deviation. The Lands and Survey Department returned plans of Hen-olds Road deviation through allotment 350 Waipipi Parish, for further action in regard to legalisation; also Hiscock's deviation, Para Para-Ma Aka Road. Kaiawa to New Brighton Road, deviation through Sections \\\) and 130b Maioro and Denize's deviation Maioro Top Road.—Legalisation to be proceeded with. Mr. J. W. Wolfenden (Papamta) signified his willingness to give reyuii'ed land for deviation on nad known as Edge's Road, free of cost, in exchange for a piece of old road to be closed on condition that he was not resnonsible for fencing.— Received. DEPUTATIONS. Slack's Road. m Amended metalling proposals were put before the council by Mr. J. G. Haddow (solicitor) in reference to Mr. Slack's road on the Oakland's Estate, Papakura. The owner had intended to cut the property up into small areas, but he had found that there was no demand for lots from five to eighteen acres, and had therefore cut the property into farms instead. It would, therefore, be a waste of monev to metal Slack's Road. It would cost £7OO and only serve two men. It ran to a deadend. Mr. Slack was a settler of 25 years' standing, and his rates were £9B yearly. Cr. Montgomerie said there was no guarantee that the present farms would not be cut up into sections, in which case the council would be called on to metal the roads. Jesmond Estate subdivision roads had not been metalled, hut that was a great mistake, though he did not realise it at the'time. Also, the owner had naid £3OO for a bridge, and it would have been harder on him to have paid for metallintr. As the member for the riding (Cr. Thomas) was absent, the matter was left in the hands of the chairman (Cr. W. Claud Motion), Cr. J. S. Montgomerie and engineer to deal with.
