The death is announced of Gerard Edwin Sampson, lost at sea, son of Mrs. and late Gerard Sampson, of Waerenga. Staff-Sergeant-Major J. Milne is resuming duties at Waiuku, where he was stationed prior to the war. He left New Zealand with the Main Body, Auckland Mounted Rifles, and was wounded in the leg on Gallipot:. Of late he had been employed as sub-area sergeant-major at Kaitaia.
