FRANKLIN RUGBY UNION

GENERAL MEETING.

The Franklin Rugby Union met on Saturday night, when there were present: Messrs G. Proude (Bombay), president; E. W. Dawe, T. Murray (Clevedon), J. Beatty, J. Wilson (Pukekohe). J. Townsend. W. Flay (Bombay), C. R. Shepherd (Patumahoe), W. Taylor. W. Sm.ed (Tuakau), A. B. Floyd and R. J. Glasgow (Onewhero). Applications for affiliation were received from Onewhero, Mercer and Drury. The two former were accepted on the motion of Messrs W. Smeed and J. Wilson, while in the case of Drury the secretary reported that he had not received acknowledgment of a request to send delegates to the meeting. Therefore it was taken for granted that Drury did not intend to enter the union. The secretary was instructed to reply in accordance with the above. Colours: The colours for the new clubs were determined as follows: — Clevedon, blue and black; Oaewhero, light blue with white collar; Mercer', red and black; Patumahoe, left in the hands of the Patumahoe club to arrange. Boundaries: The question of boundaries were considered, and in most cases the existing boundaries were agreed upon. The various matches are to take place on the ground of the firstmentioned club in the draw, except in the case of Clevedon and Onewhero matches. Clevedon's home match will take place at Papakura, and Onewhero's home match at Tuakau.

Affiliation Fee: The affiliation fee was fixed as under: Seniors £2 2s. Juniors £1 Is.

It was agreed that the competitions should be for caps, the union to contribute 10s per cap to the winning teams. Accounts amounting to 19s BVjd were submitted, approved of, and passed for payment. It was agreed that the competitions, open on May 8. The matter of entertaining the visiting teams was left to the discretion of the clubs.

Fixtures: Owing to the inclusion of three more teams in the competition a redraw of fixtures was agreed on, which resulted as follows: FIXTURES FOR SEASON, 1920.

Onewhero's home matches with Clevedon will take place at Tuakau, and Clevedon's home matches with Onewhero will eventuate at Papakura. The matter of arranging for grounds is left in the hands of the various clubs.
