MONTHLY MEETING
The monthly meeting of the executive of the Franklin A. and P._ Society was held in the committee room, Manukau Road, Pukekohe. on Friday. April lfi. Present: f iMossi's J. N. Massev (in chair), \V. Moore, A. P. Daysh. J- Reynolds. Jas Poilok. Jus Morrow. O. K. Lawrie. C. McCormick, Jas. Wylie. Jas. Roulston. F. Shipherd. F. Ballard and W. J. f). Sharp. A number of letters were read from various judges, making suggestions for improving the schedule for the 1921 show. After discussion, the secretary was instructed to file the letters until the sub-committees were set up for revising the schedule for the next autumn show in February, 1021, when the letters were to be handed ovei' to the sub-committees for their perusal. Several letters were received fioni prize winners who in accordance with rule 2','j had only received half prize money. Mr. J. Roulston said he h::d always been against rule 2:3, and ho considered it should be repealed. Mr \V. J. J). Sharp also spoke against the. rule. The secretary read a report showing that rule 2:i affected the prize money to the extent of t:2.1. He also wished to know if two entries were in a class and only one came forward on exhibition, whether the exhibitor was entitled to I'uli rrize money. After discussion the Following motion was carried: "Hurt it be a recommendation to the incoming committee to alter rule 21! to re .id "that competition means two exhibits instead of two exhibitors, r It was also decided that an entry was not an exhibit until it was placed before Ihe judge. The committee also decided they had no power at present t<> alter :*ule 2.' J. but that as it existed it must be carried out. A letter was received from the town clerk of Pukekohe asking for the A. and P. Society's suppoil to get a bridge across the railway from Kins; Street to the railway gates. It was decided to support tire Borouglf" Council in tyring <<> got this work carried out. The president brought up the question of a grandstand. It was decided after discussion to ask the architect (Mr. J. P.outly) to give a rough estimate of the same. Reports.—The secretary read a report stating that a new ladies' cloak room was required, also part of the ground wanted levelling: and the eastern side of the ring wanted moving back.- Report adopted. Winter Show. The secretary also produced the winter show report. It stated that the work was well under way; that sheep dog trials, nonv events, football. hockey and fire brigade events would be conducted outside: while music would be provided by the Pukekohe Orchestral Society.- Report adopted. Five new members were elected.
