SILVER WEDDING

MERCER COUPLE. Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Gillibrand celebrated their silver wedding by inviting many friends to a social evening in the hall. The couple were accorded congratulations from far and near. Many handsome presents suitable to the occasion were given the deservedly popular pair. Mr. M. Roose testified to the many good qualities of Mr and Mrs Gillibrand, and conveyed the good wishes of their many friends, and on behalf of those assembled wished them l"ng life and continued prosperity. Mr.. Gillibrand, in a few happily chosen phrases, responded. Dancing was a feature of the evening's entertainment. Pleasing musical items were rendered during the evening by Mrs.-, Gillibrand and the Misses Martin and Collins. A highly successful function concluded on the stroke of the "wee short 'oor ayout the twal."
