PAPAKURA VALLEY WINS AGAINST WAIKATO TEAMS, (Own Correspondent). The Papakuja Valley cricket team toured the Waikato at Easter, and had a most enjoyable and successful trip, playing three matches and winning them allf the latter two being very close. At Hamilon on Good Friday the Valley played a Hamilton B team, winning by eight wickets. Scores wei'e: Hamilton, first innings ">:s. J. Smith (10) was the only tne to reach double figures. Second innings, 55. W. Smith (26). Valley, first innings, 99, J. Coppins (18), W. Burnside (1-1), C. Middleton (i:i): U. Fitzpatrick (10), M. Kirkbride (10) and J. Twigg (lo). Second innings, 2(> foi* two wickets. W. Burnside (11), R. Moody (10). At Manawaru on Saturday the Valley won by 14 runs. Scores were:— Manawaru 01 (A. Welsh 29). Valley, 75. C. Middleton (3n), F. Hill (14), D. Fitzpatrick (14). At Moivinsville on Monday the Valley won by seven runs on the first innings. Scores: Morrinsville 750. Copper (26), A. Humphreys (18), W Tuembath (14), C. Mclntvre (11). Valley, 82. M. Kirkbride' (16), J. Hill (13), W. Burnside (11) and J. Muir (11). The averages for the Valley bowlers for the t.fip was: ' 11. Shaw 18 wickets for 58 runs, \). Fitzpatrick six wickets for 11 rims, C. Middleton five wickets for 20 nuns, W. Burnside four wickets for 50 runs, J. Coppins three wickets for 21 runs, J. Twigg two wickets for 10 runs and R. Moody two v, icI kets for 45 runs.
