The educational lecture entertainment, "Drama of Creation," which is being presented in all parts of the civilized world by the International Bible Students' Association, will be given in Pukekohe, beginning next Sunday evening. It is in three series or lectures, and gives a comprehensive view of the history of our planet and man for 119,000 years; 2150 beautiful lantern pictures are used to illustrate. The lectures are free to the public—not even a collection is solicited. Jt has made a deep ilmpression wheerver shown. A record in poker hands was (states the Chronicle, Te Kuiti) surely put up in the game in which William Brosnahan got £lO 12s 6d from James Leeming. Leeming had four kings and an ace served to him, Brosj nahana had a royal routine Hush, and I his ompanion a full hand, whilst the fourth, who served the cards, put down his hand. The most singular feature about the game was that there were no draws. Doubtless, lovers of the game will wonders how it was done. \at ion Army will hold a harvest thanksgiving festival next Sunday, March 21, at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. livery one is welcome to attend the s:11e of produce on Monday night, when a musical programme will be rendered. The Salvation Army does an immense amount of good work in the world, assisting the needy and fallen in a humble sphere to quite a remarkable degree. The verdict of tlv. 1 Diggers in the army is that, proportionately to the funds at its disposal, the quantity and quality of service rendered in the camps and on the field was not second to that of any other organization whatever. Roll up on Monday night and give the local branch of the Salvation Army your appreciation of the work the institution as a whole has accom plished.

Commencing on Monday, March 29, the people of Pukekohe and district the younger folks in particularwill have the opportunity of indulging in a pastime that is at once healthful, highly enjoyable, and invigorating. Students of physical culture say that skating, like boxing and swimming, brings practically all of the muscles of the body into play, without causing any undue strain as is liable to occur with the two last named sports. Furthermore, balance, poise, equilibrium are developed, giving the skater that confident and elastic carriage which adds a touch of distinction to the figui.e. A season's skating will do much to build up the body to stand the strain of adult life, besides affording pleasantly vigorous and entertaining pastime during the cooler months of the year.
