PAPAKURA, TOWN HOARD VACANCY. Nominations for candidates to fill the vacant scat on the Papakura Town Hoard (formerly occupied by Mr. W. N. McTntosh) will be received up till Tuesday, March 1G. — See advt. (HANUREWA. SCHOOL PICNIjC. The Manurewa School Committee has decided to have a district and school picnic in Mr. Cox's bush on Friday, April 9. Properly Sales. Tn the early days of Manurewa. Barclay's farm' was probably one of the finest farms in the district, situated between Alrfiston and Manurewa. The farm consists of IG7 acres, and bounds the road for over a mile. The long avenue of blue sum trees leading to the old homestead, and on the border, has made this farm a distinctive district landmark. For the last five or six- years, especially since the homestead was destroyed by fire, the farm has largely gone back to gorse and noxious weeds, so that it has been anything but a good advertisement to the district. Under the name of llunterville it was subdivided and offered for sale in small holdings, but on account of building restrictions the property did not sell. The owner, Mr Jeffrey TTunter, has been in Australia for several years and returned only last week. We have to report the sale of this property at a very satisfactory figure to Mr. .lames Drummory, of the Waikato, who intends to restore the property. The sale was effected through the agency of Mr. Fnns S. Pegler. the Manurewa ncent.
