WEDDING BELLS

WEST—DAVIES. A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Andrew's Church, Pukekohe, on Saturday, Rev. J. P. Cowie officiating. The contracting parties were Mr. Frank West, late lieutenant in the New Zealand Forces, son of Mr. W. E. West, of Masterton, and Alice Mary Davies, daughter of Mr. Cecil Roadley, of Pukekohe. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in a frock of maize gold and silk eolienne, with hat to match. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums, lilies, asparagus and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her nieces, little Joyce and Marie Guise, as bridesmaids, both of whom wore moss green silk merle gowns, trimmed with pink. They carried flower baskets of pink chrysanthemums and asparagus fern. Mr. Cedric Roadley acted as best man. As the party left the church Miss Ivy Duncan played the Wedding March. After the ceremony a large number of friends and relatives were entertained at a sumptuous weddingbreakfast in the Masonic Hall. The catering was entrusted to Mrs Ridler, of the Canival Tearooms. The tables were beautifully decorated, and laden with wholesome delicacies. A large wedding bell was hung from the ceiling over the centre of the table. The usual toasts were honoured, interspersed with musical and vocal items. The weddingcake, <1 two-decker, was made by Messrs. F. Perkins and Co., and was a credit to the makers. Mr. and Mrs. West subsequently left for Auckland, en route to Kaipara, where the honeymoon is being spent. The future residence of the couple is at Mara, near Masterton. The bridegroom's present to the bride was an amythest pendant, and to the bridesmaids gold neckchains.
