MR MASSEY AT PUKEKOHE
NUMEROUS IMPROVEMENTS 4 —?- WORK TO BE DONE. A party consisting of the Prime Minister (Right Hon. W. F. Massev), Sir Frederick Laing, M.P. for Manukau, and Mr. C. J. Parr, M.P. for Eden, Mr. Massev's lirivate secretarv and Mr. I"). G. T. Mcintosh, district engineer fV>r railways, spent the greater povtion" 1 of Saturday at the Franklin A. and P. Society's Show. Tliey were entertained at luncheon at the Pukekohe Hotel, afterwards inspecting several suggested improvements at the railway station. In connection -with the proposed cattle subway at the southern end of the Pukekohe station, the district engineer agreed to have one constructed. It was also decided to have a verandah erected at the railway goods-shed, and to have the road leading to the station widened, while it'was also decided to ease the corner of the approach to the overhead traffic bridge at the bottom if King Street. It will be recollected bv reader? of the "Times" that Mr. Massey promised to have these works attended to during a previous visit to his electorate. The party subsequently inspected the new Technical School which is in the course of ereition.
