TUAKAU.
J RAILWAY works. mx Dynes Fulton, chairman of the Toakau Town Board, who recently returned from a visit to Wellington, informed a "Times" reporter that in the Empire City he had waited on the Prime Minister, the i Right Hon. W. F. Massey, in connection with the matter of alterations to the railway station, and the erection of the overhead bridge. Mr. Massey arranged for an interview with the general manager, and the latter informed Mr. Fulton that there would be no serious alterations made to the station, which would affect the board in any shape or form. The Department found that the space available at the yards was inadequate to accommodate the trains, and this had to be remedied. They had thought of shifting the station, now decided not to. It was ■Mtyposed to construct an island staf||. Mr. Fulton mentioned the |ipp|er of the overhead bridge, but McVilley requested that the matter be deferred until he could visit Tuakau with the chief engineer In about six weeks' time to go into the matter. This, Mr. Fulton agreed, was a wise course to adopt.
