FRANKLIN A. & P. SHOW
SEND YOUR ENTRIES. "Well, and how are the entries?" I queried the secretary as I met him this morning. "Poor, four pigs, and one Romney sheep. The breeders are too tired to be bothered showing Only one pedigree Jersey cow. It is disgraceful. An ordinary secretary is no good to run a show here. It requres a 25 horse-power six-cylin-dered hypnotist to mesmerise them into showing-. Breeders do not appreciate shows the way they should. As an advertising medium, they are worth twice the entry fees. A breeder should not be selfish, but should try and keep the breed he is running before the public eye. By so doing he will keep it popular. Nothing sells like a popular breed when it comes to a sale."
We sympathise with the secretary. We can understand him feeling despondent. However, as there is still another day for taking entries, he may be able to get a few more entries in pedigree Jersey cows, Romney sheep, and pigs. Breeders! Send on your entries at once, and spare the feeling of an distraught secretary.
