FRANKLIN A. & P. SHOW
ENTRIES DATE EXTENDED.
GREEN MAIZE WANTED,
ALSO BAND REQUIRED
Several anouneements are inserted elsewhere by the Franklin A. and P. Society. The date of the entries is extended to February 11, for all classes. Tenders are called for green maize, about 10 tons, Also, tenders are called for the supply of music on show days.
The delay in sending entries forward is rather discouraging, seeing the immense amount of clerical work that is entailed by lute entries. The show is generally recognised to be the most important annual affair in the county, and is one of the finest in the province. The greater the number of entries, and the larger the membership, the better for the whole district. No one with ?ny public spirit or local patriotism would shirk their duty to help ihe show in any manner possible, bat, unfortunately, interest does not reach the point of enthusiasm until within a few days of the event, when it is too late to exercise much driving force. The association is. launching out enterprisingly thfs year, and offering every encouragement to exhibitors; therefore it is to be hoped that effective appreciation of its efforts will be forthcoming in the shape of numerous entries, and a large addition to the membership, within the next few days.—Motto, "Advance, Franklin!"
